Ram Rahim calls himself 'impotent', judge asks how his daughters were born

New Delhi: When rape accused Dera chief Ram Rahim Singh defended himself in a CBI court saying he is 'impotent' and not capable of rape, the presiding judge reportedly shot back asking, “how your daughters were born?”

Ram Rahim had reportedly presented many 'false facts' in the court in his defence. However, it overruled them and convicted him of rape on August 25.

Dera chief had claimed that he was not capable of any physical relationship because he has been impotent since 1990, and hence, 'no question of rape'.

He also claimed that he was 'mentally ill' and the charges against him be dropped.

The CBI judge reportedly made the remarks when the witnesses told the court that Ram Rahim has two daughters and have been living in a Dera hostel.

The judge pointed out that Rahim's two daughters are proof that he is not impotent and his claim is false.

After the August 25 conviction, thousands of Dera supporters resorted to violence in which 38 people were killed and over 250 others were injured.

In the light of the violence, CBI judge Jagdeep Singh was especially flown to the Rohtak jail three days later for the sentencing.

On August 28, he sentenced him to 20 years of 'rigorous imprisonment', noting that he is a 'junglee jaanwar' (wild animal) and no rapist is worth the mercy.

Singh has been reportedly given the country's highest security cover, the Z-plus, following threats to him and his family after the verdict.
