New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday began its probe into the killing of Gurgaon schoolboy Pradyuman Thakur and registered an FIR in the matter, agency sources told PTI on Friday.
Earlier, sources said a notification from the central government was received and an FIR was to be registered shortly.
Pradhuman, a Class 2 student, was found dead in a school toilet with his throat slit on September 8.
A school bus conductor was arrested the same day for allegedly killing the child.
Meanwhile, Pradhuman's father Barun Thakur today told a press conference here that he had appealed to the top leaders of the country to expedite the CBI inquiry into the "sensitive matter".
Thakur's lawyer alleged that the CBI inquiry had not yet started despite the Haryana government recommending it.
"If the formal inquiry by the CBI is not started by tomorrow, then Barun Thakur will move the Supreme Court on Monday," he added.
On Friday, the Haryana government handed over the sensational murder of Class II student Pradyuman Thakur at Gurugram's Ryan International School to Central Bureau of Investigation.
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar made the announcement after he met the victim's parents at their residence. He further announced that Haryana government will take over the management of the school for next three months.
