Pradyuman Thakur murder: Juvenile Board likely to pronounce verdict today
Pradyuman Thakur was found with his throat slit in the school washroom in Gurgaon on September 8.
GURUGRAM: The Juvenile Justice Board on Wednesday is likely to announce its verdict in the sensational Ryan International School student Pradyuman Thakur murder case.
The class II student was found with his throat slit in the school washroom in Gurgaon on September 8.
A class 11 suspect hailing from the same school is said to have murdered Pradyuman in a bid to create a situation whereby the upcoming examinations would get postponed.
The accused student, who is the son of an advocate, earlier informed his interrogators in his six hours questioning that minutes after killing Pradyuman, he had informed a gardener and a teacher, saying "a boy was lying injured in the toilet of the school premises".
The CBI's stunning revelation had derailed the Haryana Police version of the gory crime which led to the arrest of a school bus conductor, Ashok Kumar. Pradyuman's family had always insisted that the conductor was being framed.
School bus conductor Ashok Kumar was arrested by the Haryana Police in connection with the crime. However, he was later granted bail by a lower court.
The case was transferred to the CBI and the agency had apprehended the class 11 student in connection with the killing.
SC rejects plea for cancelling bail to Pintos
The Supreme Court on December 11 dismissed Pradyuman Thakur's father plea seeking cancellation of the interim bail granted to Pinto family, the owners and trustees of Ryan International School.
A bench of Justices RK Agrawal and AM Sapre said the "petition is dismissed."
The Punjab and Haryana High Court on November 21 granted bail to the Pinto family, owners and trustees of Ryan International School, in the matter related to the murder of seven-year-old Pradyuman Thakur at the Gurugram branch of the school.
The Pinto family -- Augustine F Pinto, his wife Grace and their son Ryan -- had moved the High Court for anticipatory bail in the murder case that took place on September 8.
