Mumbai: The Kaas Plateau –also known as ‘Kaas Pathar’ turns into a breathtaking valley of flowers annually during the months of August and September. Situated about 280 kilometres from Mumbai, the capital city of the state of Maharashtra, Kaas Pathar falls under the Sahyadri Sub Cluster of the mighty Western Ghats.
The plateau which is spread over a thousand hectares is situated at an altitude of 1200 meters above sea level. As many as 850 species of flowering plants have been spotted here.
This plateau famous for its biodiversity attracts tourists from various parts of the country.
