New Delhi: Young guns Sidharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt have a huge fan following and viewers love to see their favourite on-screen jodi together. They made their big screen debut in Karan Johar's 'Student Of The Year' alongside Varun Dhawan—and the three of them are doing incredible work at present.

Now, coming back to Sid-Alia. It was earlier announced that Sidharth and Alia will be seen as the lead pair of superhit musical franchise 'Aashiqui 3' by the Bhatt films. In fact, Mukesh Bhatt had even confirmed that the two will indeed be part of the film as they ‘fit the role’.

However, reports now suggest that the film has been postponed. According to Pinkvilla.com, due to some creative changes in the script, it has been pushed ahead. A source has been quoted by the leading daily in the report as saying, “There have been several creative changes in the script, hence the film has been pushed a bit. Earlier, Alia was supposed to start the film post-Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya while Sidharth was to do it after Reloaded.”

'Aashiqui 3' will be helmed by Mohit Suri. The original 'Aashiqui' which hit the screens back in 1990 was directed by Mahesh Bhatt and made Rahul Roy and Anu Aggarwal overnight sensations. It also starred Deepak Tijori in a pivotal role.

In 2013 came 'Aashiqui 2' starring Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur in the lead. The film was a massive musical success similar to the original. It marked the illustrious musical career of Arijit Singh, Ankit Tiwari and Mithoon.

Will the third instalment starring Sid and Alia hit a similar musical high? Well, only time will tell!
