Never do films keeping in mind box office numbers: Aishwarya

Mumbai: Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan says she never works in a movie with the motive of minting big at the box office.

Aishwarya said her latest release "Sarbjit" is getting an excellent word of mouth and is picking up across the country.

"I have never done movies from this perspective (box office) but during this week I have been hearing from the team and the industry, since I don't assess this myself, they expected the film to trend like this," Aishwarya told reporters last evening.

"It will start building with word of mouth. It's a sensitive subject and it will grow with audience's support," she said.

The movie is based on Sarabjit Singh, who died following an assault by fellow prisoners at a Pakistani jail.

In the biopic, the 42-year-old star plays the role of Sarabjit's sister, Dalbir Kaur.

Aishwarya said the makers are seeking tax free opportunities across the nation.

"The film is seeking tax free opportunities. I am hoping it receives that kind of support as well so that it become easier for a wider audience to access it. This film should reach every corner of the country," she said.

The "Jazbaa" actress is elated that the Omung Kumar- directed film has not only been appreciated by the audience but also made family of Sarabjit happy.

"It was our responsibility that when we make this film the family of Sarbajit feel that we were fair and they're comfortable. They were very happy with the film."
