Mumbai: Harinder S Sikka, the producer of 'Nanak Shah Fakir', says he could not believe that the movie won three honours at the 63rd National Awards.
The film, based on the life and teachings of first Sikh guru Guru Nanak Dev, bagged the Nargis Dutt award for best feature film on national integration, best costume design and make-up trophies.
"Producing 'Nanak Shah Fakir' has been an amazing journey that began in 2010. En route, I faced threats, theft, pressures and severe financial constraints. Deep within however, I was always aware that heavenly help shall pour in.
"This beautiful light at the tunnel end, together with three prestigious National awards are no less a miracle and is immensely gratifying," Sikka said.
"I am sure that essence of Guru Nanak Ji's message of 'Ik Onkar' (There's but one God) and equality of women would be appreciated by the masses. The film says in two hours what thousands of books can't," he added.
