Mumbai: In an innovative way to promote their upcoming film 'Force 2', actor John Abraham and makers of the film plan to pay tribute to the "unsung heroes" of the country by launching a petition seeking recognition for them.
The team of 'Force 2' will visit Amar Jawan Jyoti memorial in Delhi to voice their request and spread awareness. They will be launching a petition which would be submitted to the President.
"There are many unrecognised and forgotten martyrs from various intelligence agencies who need to gain recognition, if not get celebrated. Our story (of 'Force 2') is inspired from true life events and that's what makes 'Force 2' even more credible," John said in a statement here.
"It's disheartening that these people put their lives at stake without giving second thoughts to whether their efforts or sacrifice will ever be recognised. Our petition is focused on giving a tribute to these unsung heroes, who should also be considered as hero," he said.
Director Abhinay Deo feels everybody must recognise and acknowledge our heroes.
Producer Vipul Shah said the recent surgical attacks in POK were possible only due to the information provided by the intelligence network.
"We should find means to protect them from the backlash. Political compulsions may keep us away from celebrating such people, but it shouldn't deter us from respecting their work."
Also starring Sonakshi Sinha and Tahir Raj Bhasin, the second installment of action-thriller film releases on November 18.
