Would love to work with Mouni Roy again: Mohit Raina

Mumbai: Popular TV actor Mohit Raina says he shares a great rapport with actress rumoured girlfriend Mouni Roy and would love to work with her again if an opportunity comes his way.

Mohit played the lead role of Shiva on the 2011 TV series, "Devon Ke Dev Mahadev", which also starred Mouni. While the pair's on-screen chemistry was loved by the audience, their real life bonding sparked rumours that they were dating each other.

The duo have since kept mum on the rumours. "I share a great equation with Mouni. In fact I recently congratulated her for her new show that she is doing. I think she is doing really great in her career and I am happy with her success. If an opportunity comes my way, we would love to work again but that is not in my hands," Mohit told PTI.

The actor, meanwhile, will next be seen as the adult Emperor Ashoka, in the historical serial ?Chakravartin Ashok Samrat".

The show, which airs on Colors, is slated to take a leap in time. "I am very excited to be a part of this show. I am nervous too because I know it is a huge challenge as there is a certain benchmark, which is set. So we need to reach there and beyond with this one," he added.

Mohit, who acted in TV serials like "Chehra" and "Ganga Ki Dheej", feels it will not be "easy" to make his own space on the show, where teenage actor Siddharth Nigam was seen playing the young Ashoka.

"It won't be easy at all to suddenly make my own space. It will be a challenge and hence I am putting my best to it. I hope I can convince people to believe that when Ashoka on the show grows up, he looks like me," he further said.

This will be his second consecutive show in the historical-drama space after the highly successful "Devon Ke Dev Mahadev" but Mohit has no qualms about it.

"'Mahadev' was extremely popular but I think people will accept me as Ashoka too. I am an actor and I am always on the lookout for something exciting and this was the perfect character to do at this point of time," he concluded.
