Born to famous filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and Soni Razdan, Alia has an elder sister named Shaheen. Her mother Soni Razdan is half Kashmiri and half German. She also has two half siblings—Pooja Bhatt and Rahul Bhatt, who are from Mahesh Bhatt's first wife.

Alia Bhatt was born to become an actress and that has been proved right in every sense of the word. The cute Bhatt girl made her sensational debut in Karan Johar's 'Student Of The Year' but not many know that she first appeared in 1999 thriller 'Sangharsh'.
