George Clooney, Amal Alamuddin adopt rescue dog

Los Angeles: Hollywood star George Clooney and his wife Amal Alamuddin have adopted a rescue dog named Millie from San Gabriel Valley Humane Society.

The couple first saw the picture of adorable 4-year-old Basset Hound mix on Petfinder and decided to adopt it, reported Aceshowbiz.

"It was a happy day at the shelter for Millie! Millie was found without a home and hoping for food scraps outside of a local restaurant in San Gabriel earlier this month. Today her luck changed for the better when she was adopted by George and Amal Clooney," the shelter wrote on their website.

The shelter went on the to thank the couple for adopting the dog and shared a picture of them with the new addition in their family.

"ADOPTED! Millie was adopted by George Clooney and his wife Amal!! Millie, a bassett hound, now has a new brother named Louie who is also a rescue! Congratulations and thank you for adopting!!," they captioned the picture.
