Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, a specialized EV division of Tata Motors has launched the Nexon EV MAX today in India, on May 11. The Tata Nexon EV MAX is a new high-range variant to be sold alongside the existing model - the Nexon EV - which happens to be the best-selling electric car in India. The electric vehicle from the homegrown automaker has an increased range of 437 km with a bigger battery pack. The new Tata Nexon EV MAX SUV will get some additional upgrades in terms of features to keep up with the competition like MG Astor and others. The long-range Nexon EV will get the bigger battery pack in the form of a new 40 kWh battery pack, which will be 30% larger than the current model's 30.2kWh pack.

Tata Nexon EV MAX Price

The Tata Nexon EV MAX is priced over and above the top spec variant of the Tata Nexon EV. Tata Nexon EV MAX long range starts at Rs 17.74 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base variant. 

Tata Nexon EV MAX Range

The long-range Tata Nexon EV MAX will get the bigger battery pack, which is expected to be rated at 40 kWh and is 30% larger than the current model's 30.2 kWh pack. This can give the Tata Nexon EV MAX a maximum range between 400-450 km, as against Tata Nexon EV's claimed 312 km range on a single charge.

The Tata Nexon EV Max will get electronic parking brake and wireless charger apart from other added features over the Tata Nexon EV. The Tata Nexon EV Max will be the most feature-rich Nexon in the lineup.

Safety wise, the Tata Nexon EV MAX comprises of features like ESP with i-VBAC (intelligent – Vacuum-less Boost & Active Control), Hill Hold, Hill Descent Control, Electronic Parking Brake with Auto Vehicle Hold and all 4-Disc brakes. Making it a complete package, the promise of reliability and durability of Ziptron continues on Nexon EV Max with its battery and motor pack being IP67 rated for a weather-proof and worry-proof performance.

With Nexon EV MAX, Tata Motors has intorduced a Multi-Mode Regen feature which will help customers to easily adjust the level of regenerative braking through switches on the floor console. Customers can choose between 4 regen levels based on the driving conditions: Level 0 with nil recuperative braking, going up to the highest Level 3 aiding single pedal driving. The Company has also added an intuitive feature – auto brake lamps which gets activated once a certain level of regen is achieved, this helps to alert fellow motorists.

Taking the charging experience to the Max level, the Nexon EV Max will be available with options of a 3.3 kW charger or a 7.2 kW AC fast charger. The 7.2 kW AC fast charger can be installed either at home or at workplace, which helps in reducing charging time to 6.5 hrs. Making it an irresistible proposition, the Nexon EV MAX will support a faster charging time of 0 – 80% in just 56 mins from any 50 kW DC fast charger.

The Nexon EV MAX produces 105 kW (143 PS) of power and delivers an instant torque of 250 Nm available at push of the pedal, resulting in 0 to 100 sprint times in under 9 secs.
