Demonetisation: Toll fees can be paid in old Rs 500 notes till December 15

New Delhi: Toll fees on national highways can be paid in old Rs 500 notes till December 15, announced Home Ministry on Monday.

The charges can also be paid through credit or debit cards and e-wallet.

The Home Ministry has also asked states to deploy adequate police, duty magistrates at toll booths in National Highways to avoid law and order problems.

Earlier toll payment in both old 500 and 1,000 rupee notes was accepted till December 2, and from December 3 it was decided to be limited to just 500 rupee notes. But this facility too was withdrawn later.
