Delhi: As Delhi and its neighbourhood regions continued to reel under cold wave and foggy conditions, operations of several trains were affected on Monday morning.

Nearly 39 trains were delayed and 13 cancelled. Four trains were rescheduled because of fog and operational reasons.

The temperatures in Delhi were up to 25 degrees Celsius on Sunday, with the India Meteorological Department forecasting a slightly warm week. However, mornings will continue to remain cold.

Cold wave swept parts of north India, with the minimum temperature remaining under the freezing point in Kashmir and higher reaches of Himachal Pradesh.

Parts of Uttar Pradesh remained dry, with dense to very dense fog occurring at a few places in the eastern parts and shallow to moderate fog at isolated places in the west.

The national capital on Sunday recorded a minimum temperature of 5.7 degrees, two notches below the season`s average. The maximum was 25 degrees, five notches above the season`s average.

The minimum and maximum temperatures in Delhi will, however, remain the same.

"The maximum is expected to remain at 25 degrees and the minimum around 6 degrees till January 20," an IMD official said.

Meanwhile, the Air Quality Index at Delhi's Lodhi Road continued to be in 'poor' category with the concentration levels of PM 2.5 at 229 and PM 10 at 249.
