NEW DELHI: As fog shrouds the national capital, 11 trains were delayed, 9 others were cancelled due to low visibility.

A train was also rescheduled. With a dip in the mercury level, Delhi reels under cold waves.

The severe cold conditions and reducing visibility had led to cancellation of several trains in the national capital and delayed the flight operations at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport.

The India Meteorological Department report said the minimum temperature in Delhi to be 7 degrees Celsius and maximum temperature of 19 degrees Celsius.

People on Thursday took refuge at night shelters as cold wave intensified in the region. They lit fire to keep themselves warm.

Earlier this week, heavy rainfall across parts of north India brought down the mercury, intensifying the cold weather conditions.

Western disturbances had caused the downpour in Delhi-NCR, Rajasthan and triggered snowfall in the Kashmir Valley.
