New Delhi: The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on Wednesday ruled out any foul play in the death of a 28-year-old Dalit student of Jawaharlal Nehru University, who allegedly hanged himself in his friend's room here on March 13.
A five-member medical board, constituted to conduct the autopsy, in its preliminary report said the death was due to hanging and that no injury mark was found on the body.
A senior Forensic Department official said the death was due to asphyxia.
JNU student J. Muthukrishnan, an M.Phil student, was on March 13 found hanging from the ceiling fan in his friend's room in Munirka Vihar. His family suspected foul play and demanded a probe.
The viscera has been preserved for chemical analysis.
