AAP leaders have not just lost MCD elections, they've lost it: Yogendra Yadav on EVM tampering allegations

New Delhi: Swaraj India party founder Yogendra Yadav on Thursday whole-heartedly accepted the defeat his party suffered in the municipal elections in Delhi.

With the new-entrant failing to bag a single seat in the MCD elections, Yadav, who was earlier associated with Arvind Kejriwal-headed Aam Aadmi Party said, his party needs to reflect on the results.

He, however, said Swaraj India didn't expected to win a seat.

"No seat for Swaraj India was expected. No firm vote share figures yet, but seems lower than expected. We need to reflect too!" Yogendra Yadav tweeted.

The Swaraj India founder accepted the people's verdict and said, "People of Delhi want us to sit out and prove we're worthy of their trust. Swaraj India hears people's voice loud and clear, respects it."

Yadav took a dig at the AAP for alleging widespread tampering of EVMs in favour of the BJP.

"EVM bahana: seems AAP leaders have not just lost elections, they've lost it," his another tweet said.

He founded the Swaraj India Party along with Prashant Bhushan in October 2016.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today retained its hold on Delhi civic bodies - South Delhi Municipal Corporation, North Delhi Municipal Corporation and East Delhi Municipal Corporation.
