Vijay Hazare Trophy: Unfit Rohit Sharma left out of Mumbai's 14-man squad
Rohit Sharma, who suffered an injury during an ODI against New Zealand in October last year, has missed out on international cricket since then.

New Delhi: Senior Indian batsman Rohit Sharma, who has missed out on international cricket in the last three months due to a surgery, was left out of Mumbai squad for upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy.
While the tournament is scheduled to kick off from February 25 in Chennai, the selectors excluded Rohit from the squad.
Mumbai have only named a 14-member squad for the domestic 50-over competition after another senior batsman, Suryakumar Yadav, was issued a showcause notice on Monday (February 20) by the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA).
Dhawal Kulkarni, who has been out of action since the league stage of Ranji Trophy, has found his way back into the team. Prithvi Shaw, the 17-year-old who hit a stupendous century in the Ranji Trophy semifinal and followed it up with a half-century in the final, has also been selected in the side.
Rohit has missed out a Test match series, ODI’s and T20’s after undergoing a thigh surgery in London. The 29-year-old had suffered an injury during an ODI against New Zealand in October.
Mumbai squad for the first three games: Aditya Tare (Captain), Abhishek Nayar, Shreyas Iyer, Siddhesh Lad, Akhil Herwadkar, Prithvi Shaw, Shivam Dube, Sufiyan Shaikh, Dhawal Kulkarni, Shardul Thakur, Shivam Malhotra, Pravin Tambe, Aditya Dhumal, Vijay Gohil.
Mumbai will play its first game against Gujarat on February 25.
