Khawaja took his seat with Aisha in his arms, explaining to the press that she didn't want to be separated from him. In a heartwarming moment, Aisha inquired about her younger sister, Ayla, who was born in May 2022. Expressing her concern, she said, "Daddy, baby Ayla's not here!" As the press conference began, the 36-year-old opener set expectations by acknowledging that he didn't know how much time he had. Despite being dropped seven times throughout his career, including during the last tour to England, where he spent three years in domestic cricket obscurity, Khawaja expressed his gratitude for the recall he received for the 2022 New Year's Test.
