Asked to bat first, Divyaansh (52 runs off 62 balls) and Yashasvi (57 off 77 deliveries) helped the Men in Blue cross the 100-run mark at 21 overs before rain played the spoilsport and stopped the play for approximately four hours.
After the match was resumed and reduced to 23-overs-a-side contest, the Indian openers guided their side to 115 for 0 in the remaining two overs. The New Zealand was then handed a revised target of 193 runs needing from the above-mentioned overs.
In reply, Ravi Bishnoi bagged three wickets, while Atharva Ankolekar claimed three wickets to help India bundle out New Zealand for 147 inside 21 overs. Meanwhile, Kartik Tyagi and Sushant Mishra also chipped in with a wicket. Rhys Mariu and Fergus Lellman were the top scorers for New Zealand with 42 and 31 runs, respectively.
