Royal Challengers Bangalore have defeated Mumbai Indians in a Super Over thriller. Mumbai Indians who looked down and out at one stage tied RCB's total of 200 thanks to phenomenal couter-attack from Ishan Kishan (99 off 58 balls) and Keiron Pollard (60 from 24 balls).

Royal Challengers Bangalore had posted a handsome total of 201/3 from their alloted 20 overs. Both openers Devdutt Padikkal and Aaron Finch scored brilliant fifties to provide a strong start to RCB with their 81-run stand. Mumbai Indians threatened to come back into the game strongly after the quick dismissaly of Finch and skipper Virat Kohli. Kohli disappointed again as he was dismissed for a miserly 3 off 11 balls. Ab de Villiers though had other plans as he scored a rapid half-century to power his side over 200.

Earlier, Mumbai Indians won the toss and opted to bowl first against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

While Mumbai Indians are coming into the match on the back of an impressive 49-run victory against KKR, Bangalore on the other hand were crushed aside by 97-runs in their last game against Kings XI Punjab thanks to a phenomenal 132* by KL Rahul.

The two sides are led by the two biggest names in Indian cricket at present: Rohit Sharma will lead defending champions Mumbai Indians while Virat Kohli will captain Royal Challengers Bangalore.

The two captains had starkly different outings, the last time they took to the pitch. While Rohit Sharma was crowned the man of the match for his brilliant innings of 80 (54), and was vital in his side’s victory, Virat Kohli had a horrific day in the office.

Kohli dropped two catches off KL Rahul and Rahul graciously added to the misery of his national team captain by scoring a mammoth ton – taking all RCB bowlers to the cleaners and taking his side to huge 206/3. Kohli’s horror show didn’t end there as he was dismissed for just 1 off 5 balls.

Kohli would thus be looking to make an emphatic comeback after his individual failures cost his side. RCB are also gunning for their maiden IPL crown this year and would want recover with the matches coming thick and fast.

Mumbai Indians would fancy their chances, hopings to continue with their winning formula and justify their billing as one of the strongest contenders for this edition.

Pollard obliges as he scores 27 from the over. 53 needed from 18. Can Pollard conjure up some magic ? MI: 149/4 (17 Overs)

22:48 PM

With the result of the match already a foregone conclusion, Ishan Kishan is still plying his trade brilliantly in the middle. He has taken a liking for Saini today as he hits him for another four. He has looked really good today. MI: 122/4 (16 Overs)

New man in Hardik Pandya hits a huge 94-metre six of Adam Zampa. Two leg-spinners are now operating side by side and bowling some great lines. Kishan and Pandya looking steady as well. But Mumbai need the big hits here. MI: 58/3 (9 Overs)

21:56 PM

Wicket!! Out!! Quinton de Kock is gone. Chahal into the attack, provides a breakthrough immediately, De Kock tried to go for a big one but is caught out in the deep by Pawan Negi - who completes his second catch. MI: 41/3 (7 Overs)

21:00 PM

Bumrah is unable to nail the yorker. Perhaps still feeling the after-effects off the long hiatus. De Villiers hits a four of him followed by another four from Dube. The last ball is pulled for a huge six. 17 from that over. RCB: 181/3 (19 Overs)

20:54 PM

WICKET!! OUT!! Padikkal is gone. Looks to hit a big-one against Trent Boult but the Kiwi bowler is up against it and bowls a slow ball. Pollard takes a fine catch in the deep. Shivam Dube is the new man in. De Villiers hits a huge six off the final ball to even the odds for his side. RCB: 164/3 (18 Overs)

20:33 PM

RCB: 96/2 (13 Overs)

20:23 PM
20:16 PM

Virat Kohli is the new man in. He has not been in good form in the past two matches. He calmy defends the first two balls that he faces from Krunal Pandya and then is troubled somewhat by Rahul Chahar. RCB: 85/1 (10 Overs)

20:01 PM

RCB are off to the start that they were looking for. Now the job is to build upon it. Bumrah couldn't do much in his first over, going for 10 runs. RCB: 59/0 (6 Overs)

19:59 PM
19:54 PM

Finch is taking all the risk here. He has come out with great intent today. He is taking-on the bowlers. On Pattinson's fourth over, he tries to loft the ball a couple of times but the balls falls safe. Then in the next over he hits leg-spinner Rahul Chahar for three consecutive boundaries. Rohit now brings Bumrah into the attack. RCB: 49/0 (5 Overs)

19:43 PM

Finch is hitting it well today. He has not really looked in his best touch in the last two games but he defies it all when he hit a mesmerising six off Trent Boult over long-on. Beautiful timing it was. RCB:26/0 (3 overs)

19:36 PM

Good attacking intent from RCB. Padikkal attacks Boult right from the get go. Scores a fantastic four on the leg-side. James Pattinson's second over is more economical as Finch goes down when he is hit on the groin. He takes a minute-long breather and it looked really painful. Finch then charges down the wicket and hits his fellow Australian for a four after getting a thick inside edge. RCB: 16/0 (2 Overs)

19:29 PM
