The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Saturday after a fine display of batting and bowling performances beat the Delhi Capitals (DC) by 59 runs at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) edition.
Eoin Morgan's KKR were asked to bat first by Shreyas Iyer and they posted 194-4 in 20 overs after managing just over 70 runs in the first 10 overs. Quick fifties by Nitish Rana (81 off 53) and Sunil Narine (64 off 32) helped KKR maintain the momentum in the middle overs and skipper's 17 off 9 made sure they also end the innings on a good note.
The DC that were aiming to regain the top spot on the points table started the chase with losing Ajinkya Rahane on the very first ball followed by Shikhar Dhawan's dismissal in the third over.
While Pat Cummins removed both the openers, Varun Chakravarthy made sure he got rid of the middle order. Chakravarthy's fifer included Rishabh Pant, Shimron Hetmyer, Shreyas Iyer, Marcus Stoinis and Axar Patel.
DC could only reach 135-9 in their 20 overs.
