Short through the offside as Hardik slashes it over cover, in the air as Ben Stokes runs in from the deep, dives and takes a stunner of a catch. Hardik departs.

Fourth ball, slow off-cutter and Rohit slices it up, high into the air and Jaydev waiting...first stumble and then takes it. Big, big wicket indeed. Ohh...seems he hurt his head whilst taking the catch.

Big Man Kieron Pollard steps in now. Over the wicket now. Fourth ball, quicker to the off as Pollard smashes it down midwicket for a boundary.

After a rather expensive over, Imran Tahir comes back into the attack. Second ball, Karn flicks it to Manoj at extra cover and...misses the easy catch. Having a bad day indeed at the field. Third delivery, tossed up to the off as Karn slogs it high over long-on for a six.

And it is Jaydev Unadkat in for his second over now. Three off the first three deliveries bowled- two, dot, single. Fourth ball, seaming in as Rohit carves it down to third man for a single. No effect of dew as of now on the pitch. Last ball, off side, over-pitched and Rohit scoops it behind the keeper to get a boundary. Glamorous indeed.

Shardul Thakur reintroduced in the attack, from a different end. Replays show that the ball had indeed carried Tiwary, bounced right underneath his fingers. Parthiv, meanwhile, has continued his form as he hits a 4 at the fine leg boundary on the 2nd delivery of the over. Rana also off the mark with a single.

Ben Stokes comes to bowl and removes Jos Buttler in his very first over. Washington Sundar didn't make a mistake at the long on boundary. Big wicket for Pune. The RPS all-rounder almost dismissed Nitish Rana on the 5th ball of the over as well. The ball just didn't carry to Manoj Tiwary at slips.

Parthiv Patel on fire now, hits three boundaries for Sundar, on 2nd, 4th and 5th deliveries of the over before taking a single of the last. 13 runs off the over.

Shardul Thakur partners Washington Sundar as the opening bowler. After the first couple of deliveries went for dot, Parhiv rotated the strike on third delivery. The 4th an 5th balls of the over were dislodged by Buttler for consecutive fours.

And it is Jasprit Bumrah up for the last six balls. First ball, way too short to the off as Tiwary smashes it down midwicket for a four. It seems he did see that coming. Second ball, yorker this time as he flicks it past long-on for a boundary again. Dot to follow. Fourth ball, slower along middle line and it strikes Manoj's pad. Umpire doesn't hesitate to raise his finger.

Four runs off the four deliveries bowled so far. Fifth one, over-pitched to the off as Christian drives it beautifully down cover.

Mitchell Johnson back into the attack now for his fourth and final over. Around the wicket to Stokes, straight and flat and the leg stump bails goes blazing red. Stokes is the man to depart.

So it is Manoj Tiwary now at strike with Johnson sticking to around the wicket. Places it off and Manoj slightly flicks it down mid-off as the ball goes under diving Hardik Pandya for a boundary. And that's four more. Short, to the leg line as Manoj pulls it down square-leg for another boundary.

Left-arm action is back with Mitchell McClenaghan coming back into the attack now for his third over. Rohit has indeed been rotational with his bowlers. Good thinking from the skipper.

A single off the first and then two dot balls to follow. Mitch changing sides now to Stokes and dot again. So ample pressure piling up on the batsman now. And he gets off it with a Chinese cut whilst shimming down the wicket and gets a boundary. Takes single off the last ball to keep strike.

Disastrous for Pune as the skipper departs early in his innings. That's also his 200th T20 wicket.

It's now time for Karn Sharma it finish up with his quota. Second delivery, spins well outside off as Smith cracks it past him down the line for a boundary. And then comes another WICKET. Third delivery, tossed up outside off and Tripathi steps out to strike a biggy, but off the lower end of the bat and off it goes to Kieron Pollard there at long-off to take that.

Speaking about the openers, well, its a rather better start than their previous matches where Rahane usually is the man to depart early.
