Ravichandran Ashwin has looked to take on the Australian bowlers, rather than adopting a defensive approach, as evident from his drive off the front foot, which ran away past backward point. Ashwin has scored seven runs off his opening nine deliveries, which is a good sign.

Wriddhiman Saha has come in to join Vihari. Vihari flashes a four to third man to get India up to 200 in the 82nd over. Lots of movement on offer for both Starc and Hazlewood with the new ball under lights. And there's another wicket for Australia! Hazlewood raps Vihari on the pads and the umpire raises his finger again. India are capitulating in the final session.

Pujara has made 21* off 102 so far which is so frustrating for the bowling attack. On the other hand, Virat Kohli is also trying to get set before ticking the scoreboard further. Both have stitched an 11-run stand in 64 balls.

After the first session, Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara are trying to rebuild following shocking dismissals of Mayank Agarwal and Prithvi Shaw on the opening day of the first day/night Test on overseas soil against Australia.

The third ball slides down the leg, Pujara flicks and takes a single. Hazlewood to Kohli, pitched up delivery, the Indian captain blocks it. The next one is also full, this one is on the pads, Kohli tries to beat the mid-on fielder but fails. Just one off the over. 

Match resumes after the dinner break, Kohli and Pujara to are fighting hard as Australia tighten grip on the match.

Prithvi Shaw, whose selection was hotly debated, has disappointed once again. He returned to the pavilion on the second ball of the match without scoring a run, while Mayank Agarwal (17) who batted sensibly for a long time but fell for a fast ball from Pat Cummins.
 

Dinner Break! Australias appear to have fully taken control of the first session in Adelaide, conceding only 41 runs and taking two wickets in 25 overs.
