U19 ICC World Cup Quarterfinal live: India beat Australia by 74 runs to reach semi-finals

The defending champions India are on track to defend their title as they saw off the challenge from Australia in the quarter-finals by beating them by 74 runs. India will now play the winner of Pakistan and Bangladesh. 

Akash Singh takes the final wicket, cleaning up Willans with a fuller one, and India secure a 74-run victory. This was India's toughest test to date, but with Kartik Tyagi leading the bowlers, India have managed to not just rescue the match but also secure victory by a big margin. India reach the semi-finals.

Three wickets in three balls! Akash Singh bowls a peach of a delivery to new batsman Todd Murphy and cleans him up on the very first ball. India inch closer to victory! Australia 157/9, 42.3 Overs.

Another runout! After Fanning, Connor Sully departs for 5! 

Big Breakthrough! The all-important wicket of Sam Fanning has been snared. Akash Singh sends in a short delivery, it's going down leg, Fanning tries a pull, and feathers an edge. The Indians appeal, and it's given. 

Wicket! Ravi Bishnoi gives India a much-needed breakthrough by removing Laim Scott for 35 runs. Australia need 85 runs in 60 balls! 

150 runs for Australia! 150 runs come up in the 40th over as Fanning keeps Australia in the fight. The required rate has now gone up to 8.45 runs per over. 

50-run partnership for 6th wicket! Fanning and Scott have added 50 runs for the sixth wicket as Australia continue to chase 233. Australia 132/5 in 37 overs. 

100 comes up for Australia! Australia 100/5 after 31 Overs. 

Defensive Australia need a few boundaries and sixes as the required run-rate is only creeping up. Australia are 92/5, 28 overs.

Australia in trouble as India bring back Ravi Bishnoi in the attack; Australia 89/5 in 27 overs.

Liam Scott ends Kartik Tyagi's over with a boundary between the cover and point region. Australia are 81/5 after 24 overs.

This is Kartik Tyagi's fourth wicket of the day and he has been in a terrific form. Australia are 72/5 after 21 overs.

Wicket! Australia lose their fifth wicket as Kartik Tyagi provides India with the much-needed breakthrough by getting Patrick Rowe caught behind stumps for 21 runs. Australia are 68/5, 20.5 overs

Though Rowe has missed a few good deliveries by Akash Singh, Fanning now looks confident as Australia continue to chase India's 233. Australia are 62/4 after 18 overs.

Australia dealing in singles at the moment with Sam Fanning and Patrick Rowe trying to build a strong partnership, having added 35 runs for the fifth wicket so far. Australia are 60/4, 17 overs.

15 overs end! Fifteen overs have gone and India are just ripping through the Australians, building more pressure on the Aussies for more wickets. Australia are 52 at the loss of 4 wickets.

Brilliant over from Bishnoi as he keeps provoking Fanning to open the face of his bat with a couple of appeals. Australia are 47/4, 13 overs. 

India have dominated the game so far but the bowlers have not been able to convert this into their advantage by taking more wickets. Australia, on the other hand, are now counting on Fanning and Rowe as they chase the 233-run target set by India.

10 overs end! Despite losing four quick wickets in the beginning of their run chase, Australia seem to be handling the pressure well at the moment. Scorecard: Australia 37/4, 10 overs.

After eight overs, pressure clearly mounting on Australians. The Aussies look of short of ideas and not taking many chances at the moment. Australia are 30/4.

Five overs end! After the end of five overs, India seem to have tightened its grip over the match sending four top-order Australian batsmen to pavilion. Australia are 25/4. Among the Indian bowlers, Kartik Tyagi has done a brilliant job for his side so far. 

Wicket! A dream start for India as Kartik Tyagi gets Davies caught by Yashasvi in the slips. Australia are now four down. Australia 22/4, 4 overs.

After a tremendous start, India has put the Australians in deep trouble with the loss of three quick wickets in the first over. However, Sushant Mishra fails to keep up the momentum and delivers a loose ball to Sam Fanning hitting it over fine leg for a six. Australia 20/3 in 3 overs. 

Third wicket in an over! Kartik Tyagi fires in a brilliant yorker and cleans up Lachlan Hearne to hand India third wicket. Australia 13/3, 2 overs.

India get 2nd wicket! Mackenzie Harvey departs! Harvey plays the wrong line, ball hits him on the pads and the umpire raises his finger to rule him out leg before.  

Australia lose their first wicket! Opener Jake Fraser-McGurk departs on the very first ball of the innings.

India post 233/9 in 50 overs! The last ball of the innings fetches one run and India reach 233/9. Atharva Ankolekar remained unbeaten on 55 runs off 54 balls.  

Wicket! India lose another wicket in quick successions. Now, Sushant Mishra is caught Harvey, bowled Willians. India 223/8, 49.2 overs.

Wicket! Ravi Bishnoi run out for 30. Bishnoi calls for the second run but couldn't return to the crease in time and India lose their seventh wicket. India at 205/7, 47.5 overs.

Ravi Bishnoi steals a quick single to complete the 50-run stand for the seventh wicket. 

Indians are finding it difficult to hit against the slower bowlers. The pressure seems to be building on Atharva and Bishnoi to help India get a fighting total. A partnership is definitely needed at the moment. The current run rate is just under 4 which is not a good sign for the Indians. India are 191/6, 46.1 overs.

India 176/6 after 44 overs! Just five runs came off the 44th over of the innings, helping India reach 176/6. Nine runs came in the 42nd over!

Wicket! India lose their sixth wicket as Siddhesh Veer departs for 30. Veer goes for a wild slog but only manages a thick top edge and gets caught at the third man.

After the end of 38 overs, India are 144 at the loss of 6 wickets.

Siddhesh Veer and Atharva Ankolekar keep the scoreboard moving. Together, they have added 30 runs in 6.4 overs with RR of 4.50. 

India are 132/5 after 35 overs! India continue to be in a tight spot after the end of 35 overs; at the moments, Indians appear to be struggling to keep the strike rotating. The onus now lies on Siddhesh Veer to get India to a fighting total. 

The Australian bowlers have kept a tight line and length throughout the day by eliminating five top-order Indian batsmen, preventing India from keeping the scoreboard moving. India are 125/5 off 34 overs.

Wicket! Another blow for India. India lose their fifth wicket as Dhruv Chand Jurel departs. Todd Murphy has his second wicket of the innings. 

Just one run off 29th over! Connor Sully finishes another tidy over in which he gave away only one run. Dhruv Jurel opted to play him cautiously and played four dot balls. India 112/4, 30 overs.

After 20 overs of game, Australia are in much stronger position as they have removed India's three top-order batsmen. India are struggling at 88/3, 23.2 overs.

India in trouble after loss of three wickets in quick succession. The onus now lies on Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel to bail India out of trouble. India are 75/3 off 20 overs.

Four! Dhruv Jurel, after getting hit on the helmet on the previous delivery, smashes Corey Kelly for a boundary towards deep square leg. India 68/3 off 17.3 overs. 

Huge blow to India! Priyam Garg departs! India are in deep trouble as Connor Sully cleans up skipper Priyam Garg for five runs. India are 55/ 3, 16.4 overs.

50 up for India! Priyam Garg takes a single on the third ball of the 14th over to bring up 50 runs on the board in 14.3 overs.

The run rate has predictably slowed down since the departure of Saxena and Verma. Priyam Garg is the new man in.

Another setback for India! Spinner Todd Murphy removes Tilak Varma by getting him caught in the first slip to hand India second setback. India 49/ 2, 13 overs.
