Held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, the auction saw PBKS break records and strengthen their lineup with key acquisitions.

Shreyas Iyer Becomes 2nd Most Expensive Player in IPL Auction History

PBKS set the stage ablaze by acquiring Indian batter Shreyas Iyer for a record-breaking ₹26.75 crore, making him the 2nd most expensive player in IPL auction history. The franchise outbid Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders in an intense bidding war to secure Iyer’s signature.

Other Big-Budget Signings

PBKS further strengthened their squad by bringing in leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal for ₹18 crore, making him the most expensive Indian spinner in IPL history. The team also exercised their Right To Match (RTM) card to retain star pacer Arshdeep Singh for ₹18 crore, ensuring a strong core of Indian players.

In addition to these marquee signings, PBKS bolstered their all-rounder department by acquiring Marcus Stoinis for ₹11 crore and Glenn Maxwell for ₹4.2 crore. The team also secured young talents like Nehal Wadhera (₹4.2 crore) and Harpreet Brar (₹1.5 crore), adding depth to their squad.

PBKS’s IPL Journey
