Defending Champions Gujarat Titans (GT) have launched a new jersey ahead of IPL 2023. The basic design of the old jersey and colour have been kept intact. GT management, this year, have allowed the designers to add some basic design elements that also inclucdes a 'star' right above the team logo on the chest. That 'star' signifies the their title win last year. GT posted a video of the new jersey being stitched in a factory and later posted a photo of their captain Hardik Pandya posing in the new kit. GT also wrote: "Proud to have a Star on our jersey! The much-loved jersey is back with enhancements that display our winning attitude. Watch the jersey come alive!"

GT knew they cannot change the jersey's colour as the fans now associate with the same thanks to the title win in IPL 2022. Unlike Lucknow Super Giants, whose jersey received a lot of flak from the fans last year, GT have opted to keep the colour. LSG, ahead of IPL 2022, changed the design and colour of the jersey. But even this brand new kit has not gone down well with the fans.

GT captain Hardik Pandya will be playing in the three-match ODI series vs Australia at home before he joins the GT camp. He will be aiming to repeat the heroics of last year. Pandya has been in great batting as well as leadership form since taking over as GT captain. When he became the captain of Titans, many experts felt that it was a wrong call. The critics's analysis on Pandya was not misplaced though. Pandya had missed two years of cricket with back and leg injuries. To give him the added burden of captaincy was a huge risk. But it paid off as Pandya showed the world that was an able captain whose own performance did not go down with extra responsibility put on his shoulders.

After the T20 World Cup 2023, Pandya has led India in all the T20I series, winning away in New Zealand and then vs Sri Lanka and New Zealand at home.
