India vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2023: As KL Rahul and Virat Kohli were getting tested by the Men in Green bowling attack after Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill walked back to the pavilion, Pakistan cricketer Fakhar Zaman was seen helping the groundstaff put on the cover on the pitch after rain interrupted play in the second match of the Asia Cup 2023 between India and Pakistan.

After a fiery start from Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, India lost both their openers in quick succession as Shaheen Shah Afridi trapped the 23-year-old with a slower one after Rohit miscued a shot against Shadab to get caught at long-off.

There was a moment of worry for Pakistan fans when Shaheen Afridi left the field to get some treatment for his fingers but the left-arm pacer returned to the field after a few overs and got the better of Gill immediately. Rain stopped play during the 25th over when India were 147 for the loss of two wickets. This is the second time rain has spoiled the moods of many cricket fans. The first clash between India and Pakistan on September 2 was also washed out due to rain.

India made one forced change to their playing eleven as Shreyas Iyer is ruled out due to back spasms and KL Rahul came in as his replacement. India and Pakistan have met each other 18 times in the continental tournament. In these matchups, India have secured victory in nine games, while Pakistan emerged triumphant on six instances, with three matches concluding without a definite result. Rahul batted for 28 balls before the rain arrived scoring 17 runs with two fours. It will be an interesting picture when he comes out to bat again if the weather conditions allow.
