India vs Bangladesh Asia Cup final - As it happened

India edged past a spirited Bangladesh in a nail-biting final to win the 2018 Asia Cup by 7 wickets. 

Follow the highlights from the match:

#  India emerged as the champions after a nervy last ball win over Bangladesh. The Men in Blue managed to hang around to steal a victory against Bangladesh, who went down fighting. India were off to a cautious start after losing Shikhar Dhawan (15) and Ambati Rayudu (2) early in the chase. Skipper Rohit Sharma and Dinesh Karthik put India on course with a 37-run partnership. However, Rubel Hossain dismissed Rohit for 48 (55) to bring Bangladesh back into the match. India consolidated on the back of a 54-run stand between MS Dhoni and Dinesh Karthik for the third wicket and just when India looked in a comfortable position, Mahmudullah trapped Karthik (37) plumb on the front and Dhoni (36) fell to Mustafizur's probing delivery, reducing India to 160/5. To rub salt to the Indian wounds Kedar Jadhav pulled his hamstring and had to retire hurt. The change worked for India as Ravindra Jadeja and Bhuvneshwar Kumar stitched a crucial 45-run partnership to bail India out of trouble. India were in a comfortable position with 13 runs required off the last three overs. Jadeja and Bhuvneshwar Kumar fell in successive overs as Bangladesh started to fancy their chances. An injured Kedar Jadhav resumed his innings along with Kuldeep Yadav and dragged the wire with six runs needed off six balls. The duo held their nerve to steal singles and steered India to their record 7th Asia Cup title at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

# A great tactical change by skipper Rohit Sharma and the India management to retire hurt Kedar Jadhav. It has allowed Jadeja to steal quick singles. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, on the other hand, is batting brilliantly. He played an inside-out shot for a double, smashed Rubel to a massive six over the long-off boundary and glanced Mustafizur for a four at fine-leg. The finale is set for a thrilling finish. The grabbing rights for the best in Asia are up for grabs. India 210/5 after 47 overs. 

# Ravindra Jadeja is batting sensibly and has kept India in the hunt alongside Bhuvneshwar Kumar. India need 37 runs off 48 balls and Jadeja needs to stay in the middle and keep stealing quick singles. India 186/5 after 42 overs. 

# Bangladesh have comeback into this match. They dismissed the top-three batsmen and bowled tight line to break the 54-run partnership between MS Dhoni and Dinesh Karthik. Mustafizur then got the better of MS Dhoni with a probing delivery on the off-stump line. To rub salt to the Indian wounds, Kedar Jadhav pulled up a hamstring and had to retire hurt. India can still win the match if keep rotating the strike and punish the odd bad balls but Bangladesh will not go down without a fight. What a nervy final this is turning out to be. India 169/5 after 39 overs.

#  Just when India had started to look comfortable, Mahmudullah scalped Dinesh Karthik (37) to keep the match in balance. India cannot afford to lose another wicket at this stage. Kedar Jadhav and Ravindra Jadeja are the only recognised batsmen left. India would want the seasoned MS Dhoni to bail India out of this match. India 139/4 after 31 overs. 

# Wicket!! Mahmudullah traps Dinesh Karthik plumb on the front with a dipped full-toss. This could be costly for India. Dinesh Karthik departs for 37 (61). India 137/4!  

# MS Dhoni and Dinesh Karthik are biding their time in the middle. India would want both the batsmen to build a partnership and bat till the 40th over. They need to be patient and wait for the bad deliveries. The required run-rate is 4.3 per over. India 112/3 after 25 overs.

#  Mashrafe Mortaza and Rubel Hossain are happy to keep things simple. They have bowled at a tight line and reduced the run-rate. India, on the other hand, is in a decent position despite losing Dhawan and Rayudu. Skipper Rohit Sharma is timing the ball well and will look to steer India closer to the target. #  A remarkable comeback by India. They held their nerve, after a dull first 20 overs, and restricted Bangladesh to a below-par total of 222 runs. The Indian spinners spun their web in the middle overs as Bangladesh batsmen succumbed to the mounting pressure. Liton Das hit a scintillating maiden ODI century, 112 runs off 117 balls, and stitched a 120-run partnership with Mehidy Hasan (32) to get Bangladesh off to a solid start. Das became the first Bangladesh batsman to hit a ton in an ODI final. His knock of 112 runs is also the highest individual score by a Bangladeshi against India in ODIs.

India, on the other hand, hung around, after a lacklustre first 20 overs, and bowled brilliantly to take wickets at regular intervals. The Men in Blue will look to restrict Bangladesh below 250 runs. # The run-rate has dropped to 4.32 runs. Bangladesh are giving it away here. They have failed to convert their solid start in the middle overs and lost 5 wickets in the process. Liton Das, who was batting freely, has not accelerated after reaching his century. Bangladesh 178/5 after 40 overs. 

# India are back in the game. The spinners are finally hitting the right lengths as Bangladesh batsmen succumbed to the mounting pressure. Except for Liton Das and Mehidy Hasan, with a decent 59-ball 32, the Bangladeshi batsmen failed to rotate the strike and threw their wicket to probing balls to trigger the collapse. # Wicket!! Mithun is run-out at the non-striker's end. Mithun failed to watch Liton Das and sprinted to the striker's but Mithun hardly moved his ground. Brilliant fielding by Ravindra Jadeja. Bangladesh 139/4!

# Wicket!! Huge wicket for India. Kedar Jadhav picks up his second wicket as Mushfiqur Rahim hits a short-pitched delivery straight into the hands of Jasprit Bumrah at deep mid-wicket. Rahim is out for 5 (off 9 balls). Bangladesh 137/3!

# India finally have something to cheer for. Kedar Jadhav broke the deadlock with Mehidy Hasan's wicket. Yuzvendra Chahal then got the better of Imrul Kayes, who was struggling to hit the gaps, with a leg-break to trap him on the back pad. India have applied the brakes, they are bowling well and not allowing the Bangladeshi batsmen to steal easy singles. Bangladesh 133/2 after 25 overs.   

# Mushfiqur Rahim is in at number four. 

# Wicket!! Yuzvendra Chahal strikes. He brings the ball back into hit Kayes on the back pad. Kayes (2 off 12 balls) opted for a review, after a little chat with non-striker Liton Das, but has to depart as the impact was umpires call and the wickets were hitting. Bangladesh 128/2. 

# Imrul Kayes is in at number three. 

# Wicket!! India finally have a wicket. Mehidy Hasan attempts to clear Kedar Jadhav over the 30-yard circle but ends up hitting the ball straight to Ambati Rayudu. Mehidy Hasan departs for 59-ball 32. Bangladesh 120/1! 

# Bangladesh are dominating the Indian bowlers. Liton Das has been in top-form. His 85* is the highest individual score for Bangladesh in a final. Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma looks out of option here. He has already changed five bowlers in the first 20 overs. Bangladesh 116/0 after 20 overs.

# Liton Das and Mehidy Hasan are making most of the flat Dubai wicket. They have punished anything outside the off-stump and rotated the strike on good deliveries. # Half-century!! Liton Das brings up his maiden ODI half-century in 33 balls. This is turning out to be a fine knock by the opening batsmen. 

# Bangladesh are off to a great start. Mashrafe Mortaza's tactical change to open with Mehidy Hasan, who usually bats the down order, and Liton Das seems to have done the trick for Bangladesh. Liton Das has take India by surprise by batting at a stunning strike rate of 151.61. He has already smashed 5 fours and 2 sixes. India, on the other hand, failed to hit the right lengths and have given away the new ball advantage. Bangladesh 65/0 after 10 overs.

# India have won the toss and opted to field first. 

The Rohit Sharma-led Indian team have had a lustrous tournament. They have been clinical in both the batting and bowling departments to emerge as the only side to remain unbeaten so far. After a nervy 26-run win against minnows Hong Kong, India put up dominant performances against arch-rivals Pakistan, comprehensively beating the latter twice by 8 wickets in the league stage and by 9 wickets in the super-four. They also made short work of Bangladesh with a 7-wicket victory in their first super-four match. The Men in Blue will look to continue their impressive form and lift the Asia Cup for the record seventh time. 

Bangladesh have had an upside-down campaign with injury setbacks to opening batsman Tamim Iqbal and star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan. Bangladesh, however, enjoyed a convincing win over Sri Lanka by 137 runs in the opener. They went down to Afghanistan by 136 runs to finish second in Group B but edged past Afghan with a 3-wicket win in the super-four stage. They outperformed favourites Pakistan by 37 runs, qualifying for their third Asia Cup final in four editions.
