Ahead of India vs Pakistan game in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 on Sunday, Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma opened up on BCCI's decision not to travel to Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023. BCCI secretary Jay Shah made it clear this week that India will not be travelling to Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023 and the event will be held on a neutral venue. When asked about his take on the issue India's captain said that the BCCI will take the decision and we will do as told.

“My take is just focused on World Cup because this is super important for us. We don’t know what is going to happen later. There is no point thinking about it. BCCI will make the decisions. We are focused on how we need to be well-prepared for tomorrow’s game," Rohit Sharma said in the press conference ahead of the T20 World Cup 2022 opener.
This T20 World Cup has witnessed as many as four upsets so far. A Pakistani journalist asked Rohit if he thinks India are favourite in the tournament and Pakistan can upset them, Rohit said, "I don't believe in the terms, favourites and underdogs. If you don't reach the ground with the right mindset on that day, you won't be able to perform. Whenever we come into the World Cup, there's outside talk about favourites and underdogs. The qualifier was the best example of how you need to focus on execution on that very day."
"I don't want to use the word, pressure. Because it is constant. This Pakistani team is very challenging. All the Pakistan teams that I've played have been good. It's just about on that day. And that has what happened in the last so many years. Pakistan were good on the day of the T20 World Cup match. They were also good at the Asia Cup. Luckily for us we got to play them twice at the Asia Cup, we don't get to play them a lot. We got gauge them. Their strengths, weaknesses," India captain added.
