New Delhi: Blame it on Steve Smith. Now, 'brain fade' has become a contagious disease among cricketers that at least two victims have fallen victim to it.
Smith's fellow Aussie Fawad Ahmed was seen walking out to bat without a bat in a Sheffield Shield, then there was a Bangladeshi batsman getting himself out in one of the strangest possible run outs.
On Day 3 of the first Sri Lanka-Bangladesh Test at Galle, Tamim Iqbal was batting beuatifully. But in the 36th over, bowled by Lakshan Sandakan, he witnessed a break-down letting himself run-out by aimlessly wandering down the pitch.
