The second T20I between India and South Africa had an expected visitor on the field as KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma were taking the Men in Blue off to a flying start in the second game of the 3-match series at Barsapara Stadium. A snake was spotted on the field around the 7th over of the match and the support staff of the ground were right away onto the field to get rid of the snake. Coming to the game, South Africa skipper Temba Bavuma won the toss and elected to bowl against India. South Africa made one change to their playing XI, bringing in pacer Lungi Ngidi in place of left-arm spinner Tabraiz Shamsi. India fielded an unchanged XI that won the series-opener by 8 wickets in Thiruvananthapuram.
India started off the game on a high note with KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma taking the charge against the South African bowling attack. Rohit departed around the 9th over but KL Rahul was in his own fine rhythm in the second T20I against South Africa. It took him 24 balls to complete his half-century against the Proteas. India are currently playing their last T20I series ahead the T20 World Cup 2022 Australia, which surely they will eye to win after a disappointing campaign in the 2021 edition.
India posted a massive 237 for three against South Africa in the second T20I at the Barsapara cricket stadium on Sunday (October 2). KL Rahul (57) and Rohit Sharma (43) put on a 96-run opening stand to set the foundation.
Suryakumar Yadav (61) then took centre stage as he smashed five boundaries and as many sixes en route to his 102-run stand off just 40 balls with Virat Kohli (49 not out).
Dinesh Karthik then made some lusty blows in his seven-ball 17 not out. Keshav Maharaj (2/23) was the most successful bowler for South Africa but it turned out to be a disastrous day for the rest of his bowling colleagues. (With PTI inputs)
