Believe It or Not: This India cricketer blames receding hairline for poor form

New Delhi: Legends of the game like Sourav Ganguly, Shane Warne, Jaques Kallis and Virender Sehwag have had bad hair days, literally, and all of them subsequently resorted to transplants to increase their self esteems.

There's no report of any of them blaming the falling hair for a dip in performance, but this India discard certainly thinks that hair and performance are directly related.

Mohit Sharma, who last played for India in an One-Day International (ODI) against South Africa in Mumbai last year, blamed the falling hair for the dip in his bowling form.

“I realised I was losing hair, and it really affected my confidence big time, which in turn affected my bowling,” he was quoted as saying by HT.

In the match, he conceded 84 runs as the Proteas piled up 438 runs to win the ODI series 3-2. The 28-year-old pacer then lost the place in playing XI, even though he was in India's squad for 2015 World TwentyT20.

The Haryana bowler, however, has returned strongly in domestic cricket with a series of good performances in the ongoing Ranji Trophy season.

He went wicketless in the last match, against Kerala, but he has so far registered two fifers, against Hyderabad at Jamshedpur and Chhattisgarh at Gueahati.
