New Delhi: TV actor Mudit Nayar, 24, who plays Jeet in the popular show ‘Anamika’, says he believes in real and not over-the-top characters.
"I am a simple guy, and I enjoy playing the roles I can connect with," Mudit told reporters. The show, aired on Sony TV, has supernatural elements in it. Mudit, who plays the lead role in the show, said: "The first thing that attracted me about the show was my character. Jeet is a down-to-earth person, who is helpful and friends with everyone. "He loves his family and is ready to do anything for them. He is also a boxer, so there are several shades of my character - it has emotion, drama, romance and action." Born in Allahabad, Mudit spent his formative years in Delhi. Before shifting to Mumbai in 2009, he used to help his father in business. "My family, especially my dad, has always been very supportive. I always desired to be an actor, but if he would have not pushed me, I wouldnt have not been here," he said. After learning acting from Barry John`s institute in Mumbai, Mudit did numerous advertisements. He also featured in an episode of Star Plus` ‘Teri Meri Love Stories’. Mudit feels it is difficult to survive in the industry, especially without a support system. "Living alone in Mumbai is tough. We shoot for long hours. It gets tiring. There are times when we feel low and need someone to be with. Also, you don`t have job security. Many people come to Mumbai daily to be an actor. Getting recognition for work is important, and you have struggle a lot to stand out from rest." He also shared that his ultimate goal is to work in films, but right now, "I am happy and satisfied with what I am doing." IANS
