Amy Winehouse’s £2.5m house turned into shrine

Amy Winehouse’s heartbroken dad, Mitch Winehouse, has turned her sprawling 2.5million-pound home into a shrine.

London: Amy Winehouse’s heartbroken dad, Mitch Winehouse, has turned her sprawling 2.5million-pound home into a shrine.
The 60-year-old has revealed that the singer’s massive pad in north London remains frozen in time since she died in July, as he cannot bear to touch some of the items because he is still haunted by his daughter’s tragic death.
“I can’t bring myself to move some things,” the Daily Star quoted him as having said on Sunday. “Some of the stuff that she left – it’s still there, just as it was,” he said. The news comes after Amy’s first album since her death hit number 1 in the charts last night. Proceeds from ‘Lioness: Hidden Treasures’, a mixture of previously unreleased and cover material, will raise funds for the Amy Winehouse Foundation. The former cabbie admits he is still struggling to come to terms with his daughter’s death. “I used to blame places she went to, like the pubs in Camden Town, but now I don’t,” he said. Now he hopes the local town hall will back a memorial for Amy. “We want to ask Camden Council if we can have a bench in Camden Square, although the neighbours might not like it. I really hope that isn’t a problem,” he added. ANI
