Mumbai: He may be loved and adored by his fans, but Salman Khan has always been a ‘bad boy’ for the media. And the superstar admitted that sometimes, media does go overboard in tarnishing his image.
In a candid interview with Swati Chaturvedi of Zeenews.com, Salman said, “Sometimes (the media) seems to know a lot more than my family. I know everyone is doing their job but one needs to be a little more responsible while writing things as the star’s family also gets hurt in the process.” Salman was honest enough to admit that as a popular face of the country, actors should act more responsibly as children get influenced very easily. With his upcoming film ‘Dabangg 2’ set for release, Salman stated that he loved Chulbul Pandey’s character a lot and hence decided to do the film. “I thought the character was very interesting. I have made bad choices in the past but the fans have never held it against me. They never called me a ‘flop hero’. So I am grateful to them for that. I know people like to watch larger than life characters in films and I choose roles accordingly.” Salman also reiterated that he prefers being called ‘Salman’ instead of ‘Salman Bhai’ or ‘Salmanji’. “I don’t think by calling me such things one is really giving me respect. It should be genuine. A kid calling me by my name sounds a lot more genuine.”
