Chennai: After making a splash all over India with his chartbuster ‘Kolaveri Di’, Dhanush is all set to sizzle the Bollywood silver screen.
The national award winning actor will be teaming up with ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ director Anand L Rai for a film titled ‘Raanjhnaa’.
Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to break this news. He wrote, “Tanu Weds Manu’ director Aanand L. Rai signs Tamil actor @dhanushkraja [Kolaveri Di] for his next Hindi film `Raanjhnaa`(sic).”
Filmmaker Rai in a press statement said, “For the past six months, I`ve been looking for a simple boy to play the lead in `Raanjhnaa`. My requirement was a man who could look vulnerable on screen. When I saw Dhanush in the Tamil film `Aadukalam`. I liked him immediately. He looks very ordinary and honest, and that was the demand of the character.”
The elder son-in-law of superstar Rajinikanth is not fluent in Hindi. However, he hopes to pick up the language very well before the completion of the film.
Expressing what it feels like to be a part of a great script, an elated Dhanush said, “It`s a big deal to get a launch like this at the beginning of my career here. Aanand`s script is different from regular cinema; it`s one of those `made to make a difference` kind of films.”
"The film is an intense love story. Just like my film `Tanu Weds Manu`, the film and its characters will take you to Delhi, Punjab, Chennai," added Rai.
Dhanush’s song became a youth anthem of sorts and we are sure his fans across India would be waiting to see him in the Bollywood film.
It would be a super treat for your fans! Are we right Mama?
