Chetan Bhagat to make screenplay debut with Salman Khan’s ‘Kick’

India’s celebrated author Chetan Bhagat is all set to make a screenplay debut with Salman Khan’s ‘Kick’. Bollywood is not really new turf for Bhagat.

Mumbai: India’s celebrated author Chetan Bhagat is all set to make a screenplay debut with Salman Khan’s ‘Kick’. Bollywood is not really new turf for Bhagat. The writer’s bestsellers Five Point Someone and One Night have been adapted into Bollywood films, and two of his other works – 3 Mistakes of My Life and 2 States are already in the pipeline.
Chetan broke the news of penning the script of Salman Khan’s ‘Kick’ on Twitter. “Happy to share with you that I`ll be writing the screenplay of `Kick` starring Salman Khan and directed by Sajid Nadiadwala. Have known both Salman and Sajid Nadiadwala for a while and been wanting to work with them. Couldn`t have asked for a better screenplay debut. Will be adapting Kick from original Telugu superhit, with fair amount of changes as well. Huge expectations, need all ur support! Thanks!" Chetan tweeted on Twitter. With South Indian remakes doing wonders at the box Office, everyone in the Bollywood is aware Salman Khan and director Sajid Nadiawala have been very serious about remaking the Ravi Teja-starrer to a higher level. Surenders Reddy`s Kick (2009) (Telugu) shattered many records after its release and the same is expected from the films’s Hindi remake. Going by the original, The film is a story about a decent Robber (Salman Khan) from a decent family. He robs bad people and this gives him a `Kick`.
