Lady Gaga wants to buy French singer Edith Piaf’s toenail clippings

London: Lady Gaga is apparently spending some of her vast fortune on items belonging to French singer Edith Piaf – whom she considers her musical inspiration.
She is planning to buy clothes, shoes, perfume bottles and private letters of her idol.
Most baffling of all, it is said that she’s even inquired about purchasing the star’s toenail clippings. The 26-year-old pop diva is a big fan of Piaf, whose hits included classic track ‘Non,’ ‘Je Ne Regrette Rien,’ and wants to mark the 50th anniversary of the singer’s death next year, the Sun reported. “Gaga sees a lot of herself in Edith. She, too, was a rebellious character in her era,” the paper quoted a source as saying. “There’s an awful lot of red tape to get through – it’s a complicated process. But she’s hoping the Piaf estate want to ensure, with her help, that the music can be introduced to a new audience. “Considering the size of Gaga’s global following, Edith’s music will gain a huge new fanbase,” the source added.
