Apple Watch makes India debut: 7 interesting things you want to know about the device

New Delhi: US technology major Apple on Friday started selling its Smart Watch in India.

The Watch is being sold in the country at a starting price of Rs 30,990 to Rs 9.9 lakh per unit.

The company has launched three variants in two different display sizes -- 38 mm and 42 mm -- and customers will have an option to buy from 40 combinations.

• Paired with an iPhone, the watch allows users to check email, listen to music and make phone calls.
• The watch goes on and off automatically as you raise or lower your wrist.
• It also tracks a person`s health, for instance by monitoring heartbeats or tracking calories burned during a workout.
• Users can also send a real-time display of their heartbeat to another Apple Watch.
• The Apple Watch is 38mm-wide and features a 340 x 272-pixel rectangular touch screen.
• Each watch comes with a variety of faces with most faces being extensively customisable.
• The battery lasts up to 18 hours on a single charge. Some of the battery metrics are: timepiece (up to 48 hours), audio playback (up to 6.5 hours), talk time (up to 3 hours), workout (up to 6.5 hours), power reserve (up to 72 hours).
