London: Indie pop band Florence And The Machine have paid tribute to a young fan who died of cancer by using her image on the cover of their upcoming single release.
Natalie Roberts, 20, used her favourite band`s music as a form of therapy as she battled Ewing`s Sarcoma, but she lost her fight for life in 2010.
Her best friend Louise Clifford marked the anniversary of her death by creating a portrait, and she entered the piece into a competition organised by The Teenage Cancer Trust. Clifford`s artwork won the contest, and now the group is set to use the portrait as the cover for its new limited edition single `Only If For a Night`, reported Daily Record. "All the time she was in hospital, she had her iPod with her. Florence`s music sustained her during those times. "Having this artwork on the record is like giving Natalie a great big present - even though she`s not here to see it.It`s also given me so much comfort," said Roberts` mother Heather. "When I saw it, I was so proud - just over the moon that one of her friends would take the time to do that for me." PTI
