Rihanna ‘reached out’ to ex-Chris Brown as `it made sense`
Rihanna, whose career has been on the ascendant, has revealed that she decided to collaborate with former boyfriend Chris Brown to further her career.
London: Rihanna, whose career has been on the ascendant, has revealed that she decided to collaborate with former boyfriend Chris Brown to further her career, despite the horrible beating she received at his hands in 2009. The Barbadian singer defended her decision of recording two duets with Brown on a radio show ‘On Air With Ryan Seacrest’ insisting that she considers the ‘Forever’ singer to be the best person for the job.
“I reached out to him about doing Birthday Cake because that’s the only person that really... it made sense to do the record,” a leading daily has quoted her as saying on the show.
“Just as a musician - despite everything else - that was going to be the person. I thought about rappers, and I’ve done that so many times, and the hottest R ‘n’ B artist out right now is Chris Brown. So I wanted him on the track,” she added.
