London: Danny Boyle has said that he was so angered by the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games` (LOCOG) cost-cutting that he had to use threats to leave and was "unbelievably unpleasant" in order to get his way.
In a new book, ` Danny Boyle: Creating Wonder,` the Oscar-winning director tells how he was furious after LOCOG tried to sell volunteers, who performed in the ceremony, their costumes, rather than letting them keep the outfits as souvenirs, the Daily Star reported.
He said that he and the volunteers won and they took the costumes home without having to pay.
The 56-year-old filmmaker wrote the he was also furious at the "ridiculous" suggestion of providing one drum for every five drummers.
"I wasn`t asking for high-quality drums," he added.
