Jenny McCarthy wanted to be a nun

London: Former Playboy model Jenny McCarthy says she wanted to be a nun when she was younger but changed her mind when she realised it meant she couldn`t have children. The 39-year-old grew up in a very strict Catholic household and always thought she would join a nunnery and devote her life to God because she wanted to guarantee her place in heaven, reported Contactmusic. "I was taught to believe that my goal in life was to do good things so that I could ensure my place in heaven. So, it was only logical in my young innocent mind that I should become a nun - and guarantee my spot to hang out with Jesus and his buddies," she said. However, McCarthy soon changed her mind when she discovered nuns couldn`t have children as she was desperate to become a mother. The blonde beauty has a 10-year-old son Evan from her former marriage to actor-and-director John Asher. "I knew in my soul that even though I wanted to go to heaven, I yearned to be a mom more than anything in the world," she added. PTI
