Radio DJ Tony Blackburn admits bedding 500 women

London: Veteran DJ Tony Blackburn has confessed that he has slept with 500 women – doubling his earlier admission of 250.
Blackburn, who was the first presenter on air when BBC Radio 1 launched in 1967, even admitted that in his 1960s and 70s heyday he ‘thought it natural at the end of an evening for two consenting adults to go home together and make love’. In a candid interview, the 69-year-old was asked if he could match 79-year-old Coronation Street star Bill Roache’s claim of sleeping with 1,000 women. “I did very well, but I couldn’t top that,” a leading daily has quoted him as saying. When asked whether he had got ‘half way’ to matching the notches on the actor’s bedpost, he replied: “Er... yes.” “I’m not proud of it. But I was single in the 60s. I’m happily married now and never once have been unfaithful, so I’ll never top William.” In his autobiography ‘The Living Legend’, which was published in 1985, Blackburn wrote: “Sex is very important to me. I adore making love. I’ve made love to about 250 women.” He revealed that he slept with several women following his divorce from first wife Tessa Wyatt, the mother of his son Simon, in 1977 after both of them had affairs with their neighbours. And when asked if pop stars had thrown themselves at him, the twice-married star told Radio Times: “Well, I did go out with Lyn Paul of the New Seekers.” “She was very short-sighted, so I had to read the restaurant menu to her. I don’t even think she realised she was out with me,” he added. ANI
