Sajid-Wajid brought the streets of purani Dilli on the sets of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa

Zeenews Bureau Mumbai: Sajid- & Wajid Ali, mentors of Hero Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2012 and one of Bollywood’s hottest music composer duo are self confessed foodies. During the Delhi auditions of the show, the duo decided to throw a feast for their fellow mentors on the show, ace singer and composer, Shankar Mahadevan and Rahul Ram, lead vocalist and bassist of band Indian Ocean and of course the entire crew. Since, the hectic shooting schedule did not allow them to tour the gallis of Old Delhi and have food at their favorite joints, Sajid & Wajid decided to bring down the tandoor counter at the backyard of the studio auditorium. “It’s a sin to come to Delhi and not sample its famous Mughlai delicacies. We know some bawarchis in Delhi, specializing in Mughlai cuisine. You can never sample such food in any five ftar restaurant but can only be had either in the streets of Old Delhi or can be cooked by authentic bawarchis. Kebabs have to be consumed straight out of the tandoor and hence we arranged for a set up in the studio premises itself.” Said a production member, ”Looking at Sajid & Wajid Bhai’s love for mughlai food, we could not turn down their request of setting up a tandoor counter in the studio premises. And after tasting the food, we realized it was worth every penny. The food was truly divine and every crew member savored the delicacies.” Shankar Mahadevan who is primarily a vegetarian changed his gastronomical orientation for a day as he succumbed to the temptation of tender, juicy kebabs. “The wafting smell of freshly prepared Kebabs whetted up a monstrous appetite and we gorged on succulent kebabs, soft Roomali Rotis and melt in the mouth Sheekh Kebabs. God Bless Sajid-Wajid!” Rahul Ram echoed the same sentiment, “The food was for the God’s and we relished every bit of it”.
