Mumbai: Actress Esha Gupta, who is pitted against Bipasha Basu in `Raaz 3`, says Bipasha was a delight to work with and completely different from her on-screen avatar of a scheming superstar.
Bipasha plays an actress on decline, who resorts to black magic to destroy the rising star Sanjana, played by Gupta, in the film, releasing next week.
"I am only two films old in the industry but I have heard that senior actresses want to pull you down. The only experience of a senior actress I had was with Bipasha but she was lovely to work with in the film," Gupta said in an interview.
The 26-year-old actress, who reunites with Emraan Hashmi and the Bhatt camp for her second film after `Jannat 2`, says the supernatural horror was very demanding "physically and emotionally".
"You cannot just scream and yell unless you feel it in your whole body. I went through all the emotions that my character goes through in the film. This is why it was physically and emotionally draining.
"Also, there was a lot of flying around because we were dealing with the world of spirits. I even managed to injure my knee but thankfully not in a major way," Gupta said.
Gupta says she was initially scared to take the role
because it comes with huge expectations.
`Raaz`, the first film in the franchise, was Bipasha`s first hit and Gupta hopes that the third film will recreate the magic of 2002 hit.
"This film looks amazing. People are looking forward to this film because Bipasha is back in it, Vikram (Bhatt) and Emraan are back in it. This is why I was skeptical to take the role because there is so much expectation from the audience. I was the only newcomer in the film and felt like Alice in Wonderland," she said.
After `Raaz 3`, Esha is set to appear in another gritty role of a police officer in Prakash Jha`s film `Chakravyuh`, which she bagged without any audition.
"Casting director suggested my name to Prakashji. He signed me withough auditioning me. He does not do auditions. He just lets you read the scene. We met two-three times more and just chatted. He later called me for the role. I love his films because they always stir something in your mind and heart," Esha said.
