Spice Girls to earn £5million each from musical

Posh, Emma Bunton, Melanie Chisholm, Melanie Brown and Geri Halliwell were reunited for the launch of Viva Forever!

London: The Spice Girls are set to make 5 million pounds each from their new West End show.
Victoria Beckham, Emma Bunton, Melanie Chisholm, Melanie Brown and Geri Halliwell were reunited in London for the launch of musical Viva Forever! The girls also unveiled lucrative plans for a spin-off movie, CD compilation and New York Broadway run, the Mirror reported. The script, written by Jennifer Saunders, and produced by Mamma Mia!’s Judy Craymer, centres on a young girl group battling with fame on a reality TV show and is packed with their old hits. The five, along with manager Simon Fuller, have all invested in the production which opens at London’s Piccadilly Theatre in December. “London is a great starting point. We’re all so proud to be British. We’re hopeful this will be the start of something big,” Posh Spice Victoria Beckham said. Mel C, aka Sporty Spice, 38, added: “If we can fly the flag for Britain, we’d love that – to do a Mamma Mia! It would be nice if it made us a few quid too!” There will be no new material in the show, but the music CD will feature many of their B-sides. The group, together for the first time since their 2008 reunion tour, posed for photos on London’s St Pancras hotel staircase featured in their 1996 debut video, ‘Wannabe.’ They dismissed ongoing rumours of a rift between them, citing motherhood for bringing them closer. Ginger Spice Geri, 39, said: “It’s like being with family – only we’re allowed to criticise each other, no one else is. “We’ve all got children now and I think that’s united us.” Posh added: “We hope to introduce Girl Power to a whole new generation.” ANI
