New Delhi: The BPO sector in the country is up against heavy odds in wake of Supreme Court's order banning diesel cabs in Delhi and the National Capital Region, as per a letter written by the National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
The letter clearly states that the decision may lead to loss of $1 billion in the times to come as the BPO industry 24x7 operations since it mostly serves the international clinets.
NASSCOM says that the decision may backfire in form of loss of jobs, foreign exchange and investment. This will not only impact the Delhi-NCR region but entire country.
Since the implementation of ban, BPO companies are finding to difficult to arrange cabs for their staff to travel between their homes and offices.
