I was asked to join Metallica: Hulk Hogan

London: Wrestler-turned-reality TV star Hulk Hogan has said that he was once asked to consider joining heavy metal band Metallica. The 58-year-old former WWF star was a session musician before he turned to the ring, and he says his career almost took a very different path, reported Sun online. "I played bass guitar. I was big pals with Lars Ulrich and he asked me if I wanted to play bass with Metallica in their early days but it didn`t work out," he said. His love for music never left him and Hogan said that he has always been a huge fan of reunited British group the Stone Roses and he used to work out to their songs. "I love the Stone Roses. They`re getting back together, right? That`s cool, man," he added. PTI
